Swimming, swimming in the swimming pool

One thing about living in Singapore, is it is hot and humid (think we mention that enough?). One of the benefits is that we go swimming. A lot. I've actually dried my hair out due to the swimming, but that's not what this post is about.

Oliver is a natural swimmer. He has a natural dive and loves to play in the water. We love to play this game called "Flying Oliver" where we toss him in the air. Here are some pictures our neighbour took this weekend.

Ready for blastoff:

All about Swimming

As you all know, we have had Oliver in swimming lessons since he was about 15 months old. It is the best thing that we have done for him. He absolutely loves the water and has no fear of it. Now mind you, we have made him into a hot climate boy, as he doesn't always want to go in the big pool, because it's "too shiverery" (i.e. too cold! It's probably 28C in the big pool).

We have started swimming lessons again. They are private lessons once a week for 30 minutes. In Nassau, he went daily for 10 minutes. The swim instructor here, Paul, is a lot of fun, and Oliver really likes him. He's trying to teach Oliver to use his arms while swimming, but Oliver might be a bit young for it. But practice makes perfect.

Here are some pictures from Nassau of Oliver enjoying the water.

We call this "The Flying Oliver"

and here he is leaping into the pool.
